Adam and Sarah Dickerson
Adam and Sarah Dickerson have been married since 2001. Adam holds a licentiate in canon law from the Catholic University of America and a master’s degree in theology from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. He currently works for the Metropolitan Tribunal of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Sarah also holds a master’s degree in theology from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. Both Adam and Sarah have taught at the secondary and post-secondary levels and have been involved in youth groups and adult faith formation. They live in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania.
Mary and Brendan Corrigan
Mary Bernadette and Brendan Corrigan have been married eight years. Mary Bernadette is a stay-at-home mom and Brendan is an engineer for Sikorsky Aircraft. Brendan and Mary have taught Pre-Cana at St. Agnes Parish in West Chester since the second year of their marriage. They learned of the richness of the Theology of the Body even before they met, and their appreciation for this profound teaching has grown during their marriage. Brendan and Mary were encouraged by the St. Agnes Pre-Cana group to be trained as presenters, and they feel blessed to be part of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s marriage preparation team.
Steve and Amy Motyl
Steve and Amy Motyl have been married for twenty-five years. In 2007, Steve joined Ascension Press as the director of its Theology of the Body division, and he now serves as Ascension’s director of brands. He has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and communications from the University of Florida. Amy is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a degree in elementary education. Steve and Amy are members of St. Joseph’s Parish in Downingtown and have been active in high school and middle school youth ministry. Ever since they prepared for their own marriage way back in 1990, they have had a desire to work with engaged couples. They are both thrilled and humbled to be part of the archdiocesan marriage preparation team.
Michael and Lisann Castagno
Michael and Lisann Castagno have been married since 1994. Lisann is a teacher at St. Joseph’s Prep High School, and Michael has his own insurance agency. Both Michael and Lisann have been involved in marriage preparation and youth ministry for many years, and they are certified NFP instructors. Michael is a founding board member of the Alliance Natural Family Planning Network (formerly the Philadelphia Natural Family Planning Network). Michael and Lisann are members of Visitation BVM Parish in Trooper, where they have been members of the marriage preparation team for many years. They often speak at area high schools and Pre-Cana groups on the beauty of God’s design for marriage, by proclaiming the good news of NFP.
Rob and Terry Gallagher
Rob and Terry Gallagher were married in 1991 at St. Joseph‘s Church in Collingdale, Pennsylvania. Upon joining St. Agnes’ Church in West Chester, they became involved in various parish ministries, including Good Works, adult faith formation, extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist, and Pre-Cana. Terry is an engineer for the EPA, and Rob is an IT manager for SEI Investments, Inc. While they do not have children, they feel blessed to be involved in many church activities, particularly Pre-Cana. It has helped to strengthen the bonds of their own marriage, and they feel that they always receive more than they are able to give. Rob and Terry look forward to sharing their marriage experiences with engaged couples, in the hope that they will strive to live in loving commitment to God and one another.
Sandy and Denise MacMurtrie
Sandy and Denise MacMurtrie met during their freshman year at Villanova University in 1983. They were married in November 1987 at St. Anastasia Parish in Broomall, Pennsylvania. During the first several years of their marriage, they moved around the country, as Sandy served as a commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps, finally settling in Collegeville in 1995. Denise is a home education consultant and serves as an event scheduler for Generation Life, while Sandy is a sales manager with Johnson Controls. Several years ago they became enthralled with St. John Paul II’s teaching on the Theology of the Body and actively seek out ways to share its life-changing message with engaged couples.
Matthew Pinto is the founder and president of Ascension Press, and he is the author (or co-author) of several best-selling books, including Did Adam and Eve Have Belly Buttons?, Did Jesus Have a Last Name?, Do I Have to Go: 101 Questions about the Mass, the Eucharist, and Your Spiritual Life, and Freedom: Twelve Lives Transformed by the Theology of the Body. Matt is the co-creator of the Friendly Defenders Catholic Flash Cards and the Amazing Grace Series, and he also co-authored A Guide to the Passion: 100 Questions About the Passion of the Christ, which sold more than a million copies and rose to #6 on the New York Times Best-Seller List. He has appeared on numerous television and radio programs explaining and defending the Catholic Faith, and he has conducted seminars on a variety of Catholic issues throughout the country. Matt was also a recipient of the Catholic Leadership Institute’s 2004 Award for Outstanding Catholic Leadership. Matt serves on advisory boards for a number of institutions and apostolates including Theology of the Body Institute and John Paul the Great University. Matt and his wife, Maryanne, live in Pennsylvania, with their children.
Charlie and Susan Gordon
Charlie and Susan Gordon celebrated their forty-sixth wedding anniversary on February 17, 2014. Charlie is a retired technician for Sears, and Susan works full-time for St. Eleanor Parish. They have been working with engaged couples since 1975, when they became presenters on a Pre-Cana Team. In 2007, they began serving as presenters of the Joy-filled Marriage program for engaged couples in several parishes. They also began volunteering and taking courses with the Theology of the Body Institute. They enjoy every opportunity to promote the beautiful Catholic teachings on marriage, as explained through the wisdom of St. John Paul II.
John Harden served as a marketing assistant for Current USA in Colorado Springs, Colorado, before moving east to work at Ascension Press. John holds a bachelor’s degree in theology from Benedictine College and a master’s degree in theology from the Franciscan University of Steubenville. He regularly volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and serves as an adjunct professor of theology at Neumann University. John is an active member of St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Church in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, as well as a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus. John, his wife, and their children live in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
Trish Martin Mayro
Trish Martin Mayro and her husband Gene have been married since 1996. Trish holds a master’s degree in speech-language pathology and currently provides speech-language therapy to children with hearing loss in a local private school. Trish has been involved with marriage preparation at Immaculate Conception Parish in Jenkintown since 2006. She has also served as a co-leader for the parish’s CYO and as an executive board member of parish school’s Home and School Association.
Chris and Jenny Mars
Chris and Jenny Mars have been married since 1996. Chris has been working as a Steamfitter Journeyman since 1987. Chris attended LaSalle University and is presently studying for the permanent diaconate at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. Jenny holds an associate’s degree from Bucks County Community College in legal secretarial studies and currently works as a legal secretary at PJM Interconnection in Norristown, Pennsylvania. Chris and Jenny both have been involved in coaching various sports such as Football, Baseball and Cross Country. Chris serves as a parish lector, an extraordinary minister of communion, and trains the altar servers. Jenny has been involved in her parish’s adult faith formation and youth group. They live with their children in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania.
Tony and Jenn Falsone
Tony and Jenn Falsone have been married for more than fifteen years. Tony is a veteran of the U.S. Army, holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from West Chester University, and is currently working as a sales engineer for Dell. Jenn holds a certificate in radiologic sciences and currently works as a mammogram technician for the Albert Einstein Health Network. Tony and Jenn spend many hours in the community with their children feeding the homeless, working with Special Olympics and with Transform Disabled Adults and Youth. Tony has served as vice-president of St. David’s Parish CYO and has coached soccer and basketball. Jenn has served as a chapter coordinator for Abington Nursing Mothers’ Association, counseled women with breast feeding issues, worked their emergency hotline, and taught breast feeding to expectant teenaged mothers at the Lakeside School. She is involved at the parish level as a teacher for St. David’s School, CYO board member, and as a youth minister for both the high school and middle school youth groups. They and their children live in Hatboro, Pennsylvania.
Sean and Christine Regan
Sean and Christine Regan met at Holy Family University and married in November 2013. Sean works as a mortgage loan analyst, and Christine is a coordinator for Maternity B.V.M. Parish. She holds a master’s degree in theology from Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary. Sean and Christine are active members of the church community and help out with their parish youth group. They love long road trips, wine tastings, and sports of all kinds. They are very excited to be on the marriage prep team and share with couples how to have a joy-filled marriage and love that lasts a lifetime.
Steve and Liz Tolkach
Steve and Liz Tolkach have been married since 1992. Steve has a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from West Chester University and currently works as a corporate real estate consultant at Newmark Grubb Knight Frank in Princeton, New Jersey. Liz holds a bachelor’s degree from Franklin and Marshall College and a law degree from Villanova Law School. She is currently the faith for life coordinator at Saint Andrew’s Parish in Newtown, Pennsylvania. Steve, Liz, and their children have all been involved in various ministries at Saint Andrew’s, including marriage and family life, youth, adult faith formation, RCIA, and religious education.
John and Helene Hallowell
John and Helene Hallowell have been married for ten years. John served in the Redeemer Ministry Corps assisting homeless women and their children. He later served on the program advisory board. He currently serves on their parish’s pastoral council. Helene has experience in chastity education with Generation Life and is now the executive director of the Alliance Natural Family Planning Network. She also serves as a member of the Archdiocesan Respect Life Leadership Council, as well as the chairperson of the Evangelization Committee at their parish. They are both experienced educators and mentors in a variety of fields. They live in Ridley Township in Delaware County with their children.
Ryan and Kristen Fisher
Ryan and Kristen Fisher have been married since September 2005 and live in Phoenixville with their children. Ryan went to college at Loyola University in Baltimore, where he played lacrosse and received a degree in Education. He currently works for Boston Scientific as a cardiac sales representative. On the side, he coaches Under 7 Lacrosse and serves the Eucharistic Adoration Ministry at their parish, St. Eleanor’s in Collegeville. Kristen attended Franciscan University of Steubenville, where she received a degree in education and then studied at Drexel University for her nursing degree. She worked as a pediatric nurse at the University of Maryland for several years before becoming a stay-at-home mom. Both Ryan and Kristen humbly look forward to what God has in store for them as marriage preparation presenters.
Rebecca Dougherty was born and raised in the Catholic Faith, but she did not realize "Wow! I really do believe in this ... all of it!" until college. Since then she has been teaching the Catholic Faith to others. She is currently using her undergraduate degree in theology and her master’s degree in education to teach theology to tenth graders at Bishop Shanahan High School in Downingtown. She is also involved in other ministries in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia that aim to help others have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She believes Jesus is the “real deal” and desires others to know and follow him in and through the Church he established. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends—and doing crazy things like skydiving, running marathons, and trying the most exotic food on the menu! She married in August of 2015.
Lorraine Ranalli is a well-known Philadelphia media personality, author, and corporate trainer. Over the years, Lorraine has blended her two passions, broadcasting and cooking, to publish Gravy Wars: South Philly Foods, Feuds & Attytudes, launch her syndicated radio talk show Cucina Chatter, present food and kitchen-related products on QVC, and host the web-based cooking show Accademia dei Cento for Cento Fine Foods. In addition to consulting with small businesses and individuals on communication strategies, Lorraine conducts public speaking workshops and seminars. Having divorced when her children were young, Lorraine turned her pain into a quest to understand the purpose of marriage and discovered Theology of The Body. This life-changing event gave her a deeper appreciation for God’s plan for man and woman, as well as a desire to share his plan with others. Fifteen years after her divorce and with much prayer, study, and patience, Lorraine is now happily remarried.
Bill Donaghy is the curriculum specialist for the Theology of the Body Institute, and he frequently speaks on such topics as the Eucharist, the Theology of the Body, the art of prayer, and how to live a dynamic Catholic life. He applies his master’s degree in theology, along with his extensive work in ministry work, in presenting St. John Paul II’ s Theology of the Body to the world. In October 2000, Bill represented the United States in a special tribute for the Jubilee of Missionaries in Rome. There, he was blessed to meet St. John Paul II, who presented him with a simple cross and called him to “bring Jesus back to your country.” Bill lives in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania, with his wife, Rebecca, and their children.
Elaine Kady has been teaching French and theology at John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls’ High School in Center City Philadelphia since 2000. She holds a master’s degree in theological studies from the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies in Marriage and Family in Washington, DC. In addition to teaching, leading retreats, and working with youth, Elaine is passionate about promoting God’s plan for marriage and sexuality, and she has given talks at various venues on related topics. She has also appeared as a guest on EWTN’s Life on the Rock. Elaine has assisted the archdiocesan marriage preparation program since 2006.
Jill Cherrey has served a leader in marriage preparation ministry in the Archdiocese of Newark at both the parish and diocesan level for the past twenty years. In 2012, she became coordinator of the God’s Plan for a Joy-Filled Marriage and Natural Family Planning programs for the archdiocese. She is a Natural Family Planning instructor and holds two undergraduate degrees, as well as a master’s degree in education. Jill has also attended the Theology of the Body–Head and Heart Immersion Course through the Theology of the Body Institute. She and her husband Jim have been married for twenty-five years.
